OSHA Workplace Safety for Healthcare & DME Settings

OSHA Workplace Safety for Healthcare & DME Settings

    Course Description

A practical workplace safety awareness course for people who work at DME/HME suppliers, community pharmacies, clinics, billing offices and home-care delivery teams — warehouse staff, delivery drivers, technicians who work in patient homes, and office staff.

You will learn how OSHA works, your rights (including how and when to file a complaint), Hazard Communication and the 2024 HazCom update, oxygen and compressed gas cylinder safety, safe lifting, slips and falls, emergency and fire plans, electrical safety, workplace violence prevention, heat illness, PPE, and injury reporting. California-specific rules (IIPP, SB 553, 8 CCR 3342, and the indoor and outdoor heat standards) are highlighted.

The course has six self-paced lessons, each with a 5-question knowledge check, and a 25-question final assessment. You must score 80% (20 of 25) to pass and earn your certificate.

This is general awareness training. It does not replace site-specific or hands-on training required by specific OSHA standards, such as forklift operator certification, respirator fit testing, or fire extinguisher training for designated employees. Bloodborne pathogens are covered in a separate course.
